Biography

Lianne Moyes is a Professor in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the Université de Montréal, where she has been a faculty member since 1993. Originally from Scotland, she emigrated to Canada as a child and completed her undergraduate studies in French and English literature at the University of Western Ontario. She continued her academic journey by earning a Master's degree in comparative Canadian literature and a Ph.D. in English from York University. Moyes is also involved in various feminist literary projects and has contributed to the editorial collective of Tessera, a magazine known for its critical and creative explorations of feminist culture. Her teaching interests include bilingual writing and the complexities of national identity in literary texts. Currently, she is working on a book-length study of English-language writing in Quebec, exploring feminist intertextuality across national borders.
