Biography

Lila Skountridaki is a Senior Lecturer in Organisational Studies at the University of Edinburgh Business School. Since joining the Business School in July 2020, Lila has served as the Programme Director for the MSc in Human Resource Management and has been an Academic Director for the Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability Committee. Her teaching focuses on Business Ethics and Responsible Business at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Lila's research interests encompass flexible work, work sociology, professional ethics, and the transnational healthcare market. She has been actively involved in various research projects, including a UK Research Innovation project addressing the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on work in the UK. Lila was also involved in a seed-funded initiative integrating Sustainable Development Goals into higher education degrees accredited by professional bodies. With a solid academic background, she obtained her PhD from the Department of Management at Strathclyde University Business School in 2014, following her studies in Economics at Athens University of Economics and Business (BSc) and at the University of Amsterdam (MSc). Lila's research highlights the lived experiences of expert labor, especially home-based hybrid workers, and she employs both qualitative and quantitative methods in her research.
