Biography

Lili Yu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University. Her research primarily focuses on the cognitive and perceptual processes that underlie reading comprehension. She employs various methodologies, including experimental approaches and eye-tracking, to investigate how perceptual cognitive processes are involved in natural reading, vision, attention, memory, and language processing. Dr. Yu currently serves as a consulting editor for the journal Behavior Research Methods and is a member of the editorial board for Scientific Reports. Her research interests encompass the examination of eye movements during reading, the interaction between visual attention and higher-order linguistic comprehension, and the effects of different writing systems on reading strategies. Furthermore, she explores how readers encode and retain information, especially misinformation, in digital environments and investigates how individuals integrate multimodal information from various sources for effective comprehension. Dr. Yu holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Tianjin Normal University, awarded in June 2014.
