Dr. Linda Barrington

Biography

Linda Barrington is the associate dean for strategy and societal impact at Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business and the executive director of the Institute for Compensation Studies. She joined Cornell from the Conference Board, a global business membership and research organization, where she held various high-level positions including economist and research director. Barrington has also served as associate dean for outreach and sponsored research at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. Earlier in her career, she was a member of the economics faculty at Barnard College of Columbia University and has taught at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, the University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois. Her research focuses on compensation, gender issues in the workplace, and labor market demographics, and has been published in leading journals such as the Review of Economics and Statistics and Historical Statistics. Additionally, Barrington has edited and contributed to scholarly books and frequently provides expert commentary on compensation and labor market statistics in various media outlets. She has a strong background in academic administration, stakeholder collaboration, and organizational management.
