Dr. Linda Evans

Biography

Linda Evans is a Professor at the University of Manchester, with a background in education that began in Greater Manchester. She has previously held academic positions at the University of Warwick and the University of Leeds where she was promoted to Reader and later to Professor. In June 2017, she joined the University of Manchester and presented her inaugural lecture in 2019. Her research interests encompass professional working life in education contexts, focusing on educational leadership, researcher development, and academic professionalism. She has conducted significant empirical studies on university professors and the history of the professorship. Linda has published various provocative articles aimed at challenging conventional leadership practices. She remains active in doctoral supervision, welcoming inquiries from potential doctoral students whose research aligns with her interests. In addition to academic pursuits, she enjoys theatre, historical sites, and has a keen interest in foreign languages, particularly French and German, with experience in teaching and examining students in these languages.
