Biography

Since the late 1980s, I have led applied research and development projects in the field of ergonomics, focusing on reducing the risks of work-related injuries. As an engineer, I have developed tools, methods, and systems in close collaboration with users and companies using participatory methodology. The projects have been carried out from both an individual perspective (safety, health, usability, etc.) and a system perspective (productivity, quality, economy, etc.). In the initial years, the application areas were primarily in the construction industry, but in recent years I have expanded to other industries. My research interests primarily involve developing models and methods to assess, compare, and choose solutions that are beneficial from both perspectives. This includes modeling physical reactions, risk assessment and management methods for identifying personal injury risks, and models that consider the economic consequences of workplace conditions at the corporate level. I have a strong interest in education and pedagogy.
