Biography

Linda Rothman is an Associate Professor in the School of Occupational and Public Health at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has a background as an occupational therapist, initially trained at the University of Toronto, where she worked with neurologically impaired children in various settings. She obtained a master's degree in Community Health Epidemiology from the University of Toronto, focusing her work on arthritis epidemiology. Following her education, she joined the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children and completed her PhD at the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto. Additionally, she received postdoctoral training in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University. Since joining her current school in 2019, her research has concentrated on unintentional injury prevention, particularly regarding child pedestrian and cycling injuries within the context of the built environment and safe active transportation. Her work is characterized by multi-disciplinary collaborations and has been presented at various conferences both locally and internationally. Rothman's dedication to public health is evident in her ongoing projects aimed at improving road safety and addressing social equity in relation to transportation.
