Lindsay Flowers is an Assistant Professor of Oboe at the Mead Witter School of Music, University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she is a member of the Wingra Wind Quintet and engages in student-generated community projects. She earned her Doctor of Music degree from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, studying under esteemed instructors Linda Strommen and Roger Roe. Lindsay’s performance experience includes roles as Oboist and English Hornist with the Madison Symphony Orchestra and Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, alongside previous positions as Principal Oboist with the Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra and a member of several other orchestras. She is a founding member of the Arundo Donax Reed Quintet, which won a Bronze Medal at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Additionally, Lindsay has performed and collaborated with numerous renowned conductors in various prestigious venues and festivals. Beyond performance, she is involved in the maintenance and repair of oboes and English horns and has shared her expertise through presentations at international conferences. Lindsay serves as Treasurer for the International Double Reed Society’s Midnorth Regional Chapter, contributing to the global oboe and reed community.
