Lisa is an anti-disciplinary scholar and methodologist with experience working in the areas of Education, Urban Studies, Philosophy, Public Policy, and Criminology Sociology. Her work focuses on the practices of knowledge production and meaning-making, engaging with relationships with dominant knowledge structures and marginalized forms of knowing in higher education. Her PhD explored the naturalization of time within Urban Studies and the limiting effects of temporal imaginations on academic practices. Recent projects include Justice Journeys, which employed arts-based methods to collaborate with survivors of crime to explore their experiences with the criminal justice system. Lisa has received the University of Glasgow’s Community & Public Engagement award for her work. She is currently the principal investigator or co-principal investigator for multiple grants addressing various social issues. Her research is theoretically grounded in post-qualitative inquiry and incorporates a wide range of methodological approaches, including (auto)ethnography and participatory research, each aimed at uncovering unseen realities and challenging dominant academic practices.
