Biography

Lisa Christian is an Associate Clinical Professor and the Associate Director of Clinical Education at the University of Waterloo's School of Optometry and Vision Science. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from Queen's University and her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. After graduation, she completed a residency in binocular vision and pediatric optometry at the University of Waterloo. Lisa is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and serves as the co-national faculty liaison and an Executive Council Member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Her research interests focus on binocular vision anomalies, interprofessional education, and pediatric eye care, with a commitment to improving public health concerning these areas. Lisa has published numerous articles and presented both nationally and internationally on topics related to interprofessional education, pediatric eye care, and binocular vision. She teaches multiple clinical courses within the optometry program and has contributed significantly to advancing educational practices in her field.
