Biography

Lisa Ijiri is a Clinical Professor and Senior Advisor for the Dean's Office at the Wheelock College of Education & Human Development, Boston University. With 30 years of leadership experience in higher education, Dr. Ijiri has a lifelong commitment to student access, diversity, inclusion, and new program development aimed at enhancing educational effectiveness. She has presented nationally and internationally on a wide range of topics, including accreditation, global learning, and strategic change management. Prior to joining Boston University, she served as vice provost and professor at Lesley University, where she led numerous initiatives, including the establishment of the Global Education Center and the oversight of programmatic accreditations. Her earlier roles include associate dean and chair at Curry College. An experienced evaluator for NECHE accreditation teams, Dr. Ijiri has expertise in assessing international institutions. Additionally, she has participated on advisory boards, such as the Massachusetts ACE Women’s Leadership Network. Her early academic career included positions at Northwestern University’s Learning Disabilities Clinic and as an assistant professor at Barat College, now affiliated with DePaul University. She has also served as a Fulbright Scholar, visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo.
