Biography

Lisa Raymond-Tolan is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at New York University Steinhardt. She holds a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Her teaching includes courses on Foundations of Occupational Therapy, Performance Development Across the Lifespan, and Pediatrics. Her research interests focus on facilitating engagement and participation in valued occupations for children and occupational therapy graduate students. Current projects encompass evaluating the impact of teaching executive function skills to children and exploring innovative teaching methods for graduate students. Lisa has also received a Teaching Advancement Grant to create hands-on learning experiences for students. Her work has been presented at various distinguished conferences, including the AOTA Education Summit and the Hawaii International Conference on Education. Previous to joining NYU, she served as a Clinical Associate Professor at Pace University, where she taught various aspects of occupational therapy and was awarded for her scholarly research.
