Biography

Lisa Rumpel is a collaborative pianist and vocal coach at the Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba. Praised for her fierce artistry and poetic pianism, she engages audiences with her performance of classical music. An alumnus of the Franz Schubert Institute, Vancouver International Song Institute, and Opera NUOVA, she has inspired many through her mentorship experiences. Lisa completed her Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the University of Manitoba in 2015 and has since been an active member of the Manitoba music community. She is a sought-after collaborator and teacher, performing alongside some of Manitoba's foremost musicians. In addition to her extensive freelance work, she serves as the Associate Director of Flipside Opera and Living Room Live, organizations that promote modern Canadian compositions and house concerts. Lisa enjoys performing for diverse audiences and believes in the power of collaboration in music teaching and performance.
