Biography

Lori Breslow is a Senior Lecturer in Managerial Communication at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where she has contributed significantly to the development and improvement of teaching and learning practices in higher education. As the founding director of the MIT Teaching and Learning Laboratory from 1997 to 2015, Breslow led and managed numerous studies focusing on educational change and innovation. Her prominent research interests include pedagogical and curricular enhancements, as well as the implementation of technological advancements in education. Breslow has collaborated on various initiatives both nationally and internationally to enhance college teaching, including work designed to improve STEM education in South Africa. She is the co-director of the Teaching and Learning Network, a collaboration with the University of Cambridge. Breslow has been invited to present her work at reputable conferences and gatherings, including the New York Times’ School symposium and the President’s Task Force on Science and Technology. Her research has been recognized through multiple awards, including a notable paper award at the American Society for Engineering Education conference. Breslow's expertise encompasses the design and application of blended learning courses, with a notable focus on massive open online courses (MOOCs).
