Biography

Lucia Ravi is a Librarian and HDR Masters Candidate at the University of Western Australia (UWA). She has been actively involved in supporting information access and research skills development across various disciplines, including science, health, medical, and humanities. Since joining UWA in 2011, her role has centered around engaging with academic staff to incorporate effective information literacy skills in course programs. Ravi’s previous experience includes roles in the State Public Library sector, where she contributed to community development and literacy outreach initiatives. Her Masters Thesis focuses on exploring the impact of inquiry research integrated teaching on curriculum design decisions. She has presented at numerous conferences, sharing her expertise in educational innovation and information literacy. Key among her community engagement efforts is her role as Co-Convenor of the UWA Community Practice, which began in 2019. Ravi holds multiple qualifications including a MasterTrack Certificate in Instructional Design from the University of Illinois, a Graduate Diploma in Education from UWA, and a Graduate Diploma in Information Science from Edith Cowan University. She is passionate about contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in education.
