Biography

Professor Lynn Shaw contributes ongoing research partnerships that address work disparities and work disruptions, tackling systemic issues to create opportunities for Decent Work, social inclusion, and the promotion of occupational participation, workplace health, and well-being. Her work focuses on engaging and building research capacity among community members and organizations while mentoring individuals with disabilities pursuing research. Currently, she serves as a column editor for the Journal WORK on Equitable Work Transitions, focusing on Mobility and Advancing Decent Work. Shaw employs occupational science and critical lenses to collaboratively study occupational transitions and workplace transformations, particularly concerning the disparities faced by individuals with disabilities and those dealing with chronic pain. Key areas of her research involve health transformation through interprofessional academic collaborative approaches, systematic reviews in occupational therapy, and the impacts of technological disruptions on future work. Shaw has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and continues to guide graduate research projects in Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy.
