Biography

Lynsie Chew is a Professor of Financial Education and Programme Director for the MSc Professional Accountancy (online) at UCL School of Management. She has extensive experience in higher education and a strong background in Accounting and Financial Management. Lynsie has held several leadership roles, including Academic Lead for the MSc Strategic Accounting & Finance (online) in partnership with the University of London. She has taught at various institutions, developing and delivering courses in management accounting, financial accounting, and business management. As a core member of the School’s Digital Education Learning Solutions (DEaLS) team, she plays a critical role in managing UCL’s online education initiatives arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. Lynsie is recognized for her innovative teaching methods that engage students in accounting and finance through practical experiences and a touch of humor. Her contributions to the field include co-authoring five custom textbooks and actively participating in international scholarship in Accounting and Education. Lynsie has received multiple awards, such as the UCL Education Award and several teaching awards voted on by students. She was a key developer of the innovative business simulation, Icarus, which won a Gold Award at the 2017 UK National Learning Technology Awards. Outside academia, Lynsie enjoys travel, music, and food.
