Dr. Majken Askeland

Biography

Majken Askeland is an Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where she serves as a tutor and faculty member on the Oxford Strategic Leadership Programme, leading open leadership development programmes globally. She works at the Norwegian foundation AFF, managing highly acclaimed leadership development programmes in the Nordic countries. As the Program Director for the Headmaster Program, she collaborates with the Norwegian School of Economics to deliver the AFF FiftyFifty initiative, which aims to enhance gender balance in the C-suite. Majken designs and runs programmes for clients across various sectors including health, finance, travel, and fast-moving consumer goods. She has a background with large international companies like Deloitte and Hewlett-Packard and has commercialized a high-tech startup while leading her own management consulting boutique, focusing on finance, banking, insurance, and oil/gas in the Nordic market. Majken holds a Doctorate in Management, focusing on complexity, leadership, and organisational change, with Professor Nicholas Sarra as her primary supervisor and Professors Ralph Stacey and Emma Crewe as secondary supervisors. She is also a certified executive coach (CTI) and has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering/Telecom.
