Professor Dr. Maria Peeters

Biography

Maria Peeters is a Full Professor in the Human Performance Management Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her research focuses on workforce sustainable performance and diversity in high-tech work environments. She has expertise in various areas, including worker health and well-being, work engagement, sustainable employability, intervention research (including job crafting), and work-life balance, especially in the context of implementing technological innovations. Given the rapid pace of newly developed technologies, the effective support and usage of these innovations are critical for maintaining sustainable performance. Maria emphasizes the importance of understanding the implementation processes of technology while considering the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) of target groups within organizations. Her approach is tailored to accommodate characteristics of various groups, such as older workers or those with lower educational levels, ensuring their motivation to remain active in the labor market as they age. Maria Peeters holds an MSc in Health Sciences from Maastricht University and a PhD from Radboud University Nijmegen, where her research centered on the effects of social support on work stress. In addition to her position at TU/e, she has served as an Associate Professor at Utrecht University in the Department of Social, Health and Organizational Psychology. She has published over 100 national and international articles and book chapters in her field and has been involved in editorial activities and leading academic organizations.
