Dr. Marilisa Boffo

Biography

Marilisa Boffo is an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology specializing in digital behavioral health at the Erasmus University Rotterdam's Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences. She is a trained clinical psychologist and research methodologist with a focus on designing and investigating digital interventions for behavior change. Her research career has centered on translating insights from behavioral science into engaging digital solutions that positively influence people's lives. Boffo coordinates the 'Design Digital Interventions' master's course and has spent over a decade applying research to harness the affordances of digital technology for positive impact. She is the co-founder of the Wellbeing Virtual Environments Lab (Wave Lab) at Erasmus University, an interdisciplinary team that combines behavioral science and digital design to stimulate beneficial behavioral changes. Her Ph.D. research concentrated on the validity of implicit measures in psychopathology and the development of digital training interventions to enhance cognitive control in the context of alcohol addiction. Additionally, she has worked on evaluating and designing serious games in collaboration with various institutions, contributing significantly to the field of digital behavior change.
