Dr. Marise Born

Biography

Marise Ph. Born is a Full Professor of Personnel Psychology at the Institute of Psychology of Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in industrial personnel psychology. She has a significant academic background, having held positions as an Endowed Professor at VU University Amsterdam and an Extraordinary Professor at Optentia, North-West University in South Africa. Born's research focuses on key areas including personnel selection, cross-cultural psychology, and test development for assessment purposes. She has served as an active council member of the International Test Commission and was the President from 2008 to 2010. Her contributions to the field include co-founding the Dutch-Flemish Network for Recruitment and Selection Research and being a member of the task force for ISO 10667 standards concerning psychological assessment in work contexts. As an important figure in her field, she has mentored numerous PhD candidates and continues to engage in research that explores psychometric properties of various psychological assessments, addressing topics such as personality, situational judgment testing, and the intricacies of recruitment processes across different applicant subgroups.
