Dr. Martin Maldovan

Biography

Martin Maldovan is an Associate Professor in the School of Physics at Georgia Tech. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. His research focuses on the physics of thermal energy transport, nanoscale metamaterials, and phononic and photonic materials. Maldovan has contributed significantly to the understanding of thermal energy mass transport mechanisms in materials. His work includes innovative investigations into periodic materials and interference lithography, which are crucial for developing advanced materials with tailored thermal properties. His research has been published in various high-impact journals, including Nature and Advanced Materials, where he has explored topics such as sound heat revolutions, heat management thermocrystals, and the development of models for nanoscale thermal conduction and heat transport in semiconductors.
