Dr. Martin Okos

Biography

Martin Okos is a Professor in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at Purdue University. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Food Science, and both his Master of Science and Doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University. Promoted to the rank of Professor in 1983, he currently teaches and conducts research in areas such as food process engineering and computer-aided design of food processes. His research focuses on the optimization of food, pharmaceutical, and biological processes through experimental and computer-aided methods. Okos has been recognized with the School of Agriculture Outstanding Agricultural Research Award in 1990 for his contributions to the field. His work involves measurement and design aspects including rheological and transport properties, fermentation reactor design, and food product properties, making significant contributions to the advancement of food engineering and technology.
