I work as an assistant professor at the Radboud Teachers Academy in Nijmegen. I believe in training teachers to creatively shape their teaching and continuously improve it through inquiry-based actions. My research contributes to promoting a research culture in schools, focusing on the inquiry-based (and design-based) learning of students, with a strong emphasis on the creative process. I also investigate the guidance of this process by teachers and their own inquiry-driven actions. My doctoral research focused on professionalizing teachers in the didactics of inquiry-based learning. Conducting practice-oriented scientific educational research inspires me as it allows me to contribute to knowledge development and the improvement of educational practices. Additionally, I enjoy mentoring students and teachers in conducting (practice) research and implementing innovations in their teaching.
