Biography

Dr. Mary Chen Xiaorong is currently an Assistant Professor and Programme Leader for the Bachelor of Science with Honours in Nursing at the Singapore Institute of Technology. She has also served as a Senior Lecturer and has extensive experience in clinical education. Before joining SIT, she worked as a Nurse Educator at SingHealth Polyclinics and contributed to training future nursing professionals in chronic disease management and foundational clinical skills. Dr. Chen holds a Doctor of Education in Social Sciences from University College London and has conducted significant research on nursing students’ clinical practice experiences and continuing education for healthcare workers. Her research interests include work-based learning, social learning theories in nursing education, and the transition of novice practitioners in clinical environments. She has received several awards for her contributions to nursing education and continues to actively participate in research and community initiatives.
