Professor Dr. Mathias Fridahl

Biography

Mathias Fridahl is a Senior Associate Professor at Linköping University, specializing in international climate negotiations. His research investigates the interplay between law, procedural rules, and negotiating practices that influence effective climate policies worldwide. He focuses on the dynamics and policy priorities of various actors in international climate politics. With expertise in statistical analyses and qualitative methodologies, Fridahl applies these methods to understand governance transformations related to climate change. He holds a PhD in Water and Environmental Studies and has extensive experience in teaching subjects such as environmental history and international environmental law. Fridahl has been involved in multiple significant research projects, including studies on climate financing and Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in developing countries. He has served as a reviewer for numerous academic publications and has taught a wide range of graduate and undergraduate courses at Linköping University.
