Dr. Mathieu Turgeon

Biography

Mathieu Turgeon is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Western University. He holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin. His research interests focus on political behavior, voting, elections, public opinion, political psychology, political participation, and statistical and experimental survey methodology. His comparative work spans multiple countries, including Brazil, the U.S., France, Canada, and Latin America. Turgeon's current research projects examine compulsory voting and its impact on public opinion, as well as affirmative action policies in Brazil. He has published extensively in both English and Portuguese, with significant contributions to the understanding of electoral dynamics and public attitudes. Throughout his career, he has received various research grants and awards, reflecting his impactful work in political science.
