Biography

Matthew Wizinsky is an award-winning designer, educator, researcher, and author with extensive experience in interaction, communication, and experiential design. He has taught and studied at the intersection of contemporary design, political economy, urbanism, public history, and strategic foresight. Wizinsky regularly delivers keynotes, lectures, and workshops worldwide, having participated in significant events including Italy’s Smart Life Festival, Milan Design Week, Exhibit Columbus, and the Venice Architecture Biennale. His creative practice facilitates interdisciplinary collaborations spanning Architecture, Anthropology, Digital Humanities, Public History, and Public Health. His work has garnered support from organizations like the Mellon Foundation and the National Endowment for the Humanities, and has been recognized by Core77, the Society of Typographic Arts, and Design Incubation. Wizinsky is also a recipient of the University of Michigan’s Donna M. Salzer Award for Excellence in Teaching. He holds a PhD in Transition Design from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Design from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from the University of Cincinnati.
