Biography

Maurice Tardif was a full professor at the Faculty of Education at the University of Montreal, where he taught the history of educational ideas. He directed the Interuniversity Research Centre on Teacher Training and the Teaching Profession (CRIFPE) in Montreal. Tardif authored over thirty works on teaching, the social history of the teaching profession, and teacher training. In 2010, he received the Marcel Vincent Award from the Acfas for his contributions to the development of social sciences in French Canada. He was a member of the Royal Society of Canada and the Academy of Social Sciences. Tardif was regularly invited as a professor and researcher at various universities in Europe and Latin America.
