Biography

Michael Elliott is an internationally renowned voice and text coach, trained under Patsy Rodenburg. He has an MA from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and has served as a voice and speech trainer for over 14 years. Prior to joining the University of Victoria, he taught at various institutions including the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, Florida State University, and the University of Northampton. He has worked extensively with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and has coached actors at notable festivals such as the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and the Shaw Festival in Ontario. Elliott has a particular expertise in dialect coaching and has contributed to projects such as the video game Assassin's Creed: Origins. He specializes in supporting actors in their interpretation of Shakespearean and classical texts and frequently conducts workshops on embodying Shakespeare's language across institutions in both North America and the UK.
