Biography

Michael Gould is a Professor at the University of Michigan in the Department of Winds & Percussion within the School of Music, Theatre & Dance. His international recognition as both a performer and scholar in the field of drum set and contemporary percussion performance is notable. Gould has presented clinics worldwide, released over 100 educational percussion videos, and composed music performed in a wide range of ensembles and venues, including Münich Opera and National Public Radio. One of his latest performances, 'Remember,' was showcased at Kunsthaus Dahlem in Berlin, Germany, integrating dance, theater, percussion, electronics, and original artwork. Gould's work has been published by Alternative Press in Ann Arbor, MI, and he has collaborated with Henry Pollack, co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, on an art installation piece entitled 'World Ice,' focusing on climate change issues.
