Biography

Michael Robidoux is a full professor at the University of Ottawa, specializing in ethnology. He has led multidisciplinary research programs focused on land-based food practices in rural and remote Indigenous communities in northern Canada for over 20 years. Robidoux is a key figure in the Indigenous Health Research Group, forging long-standing partnerships with tribal organizations and Indigenous communities to advocate for local food systems that combat food insecurity and diet-related diseases. His research is particularly interested in the effect of local food procurement on dietary practices and economic strategies to enhance food capacity in remote northern communities.
