Biography

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in physics, Professor Michèle Desjardins became interested in the application of physics and engineering to the study of the brain. Her research spans three themes: the development of imaging methods, numerical modeling, and their application to the study of brain activity and neurovascular coupling. Her recent projects focus on the evolution of neural and vascular networks with aging, oxygen distribution and radiosensitivity in tumors, modulation of neurovascular coupling by norepinephrine, and the structure-function relationship in the brain.
