Biography

Michele Goldfarb is an Adjunct Faculty member at Penn Carey Law’s Mediation Clinic. With a career spanning several decades, she has significantly contributed to the University of Pennsylvania in various roles, including Associate Ombudsman and Director at the Penn Women’s Center. Between 1995-2006 and 2012-2014, she served as the Director of the Office of Student Conduct, where she was responsible for overseeing the administration of the student disciplinary system. Goldfarb has also worked extensively as a clinical supervisor and adjunct faculty member in clinical programs, particularly in the Civil Practice clinic and Mediation Clinic. Her expertise lies in conflict resolution and general mediation practice, where she trains law students in mediation skills through both classroom instruction and fieldwork supervision. In addition, Goldfarb has been active in training faculty, college administrators, and students in mediation workshops to prepare them for university-based dispute resolution roles. She has participated in committees dealing with academic integrity, substance abuse, and student record confidentiality, and she has conducted numerous workshops on ethical issues and conflict resolution. Before her academic career, Goldfarb worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Philadelphia and an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C., prosecuting a wide variety of criminal offenses, and has gained significant experience advocating for families and victims of violence. Goldfarb is a proud graduate of Oberlin College.
