Dr. Mirella Witek

Biography

Mirella Witek is a Lecturer and the French Placement Test Coordinator at Toronto Metropolitan University. She has expertise in 17th century French travel literature, performing arts including dance and music, as well as 20th century Francophone literature and intertextuality. Her academic background includes a PhD from the University of Toronto and master's and bachelor's degrees from York University. Additionally, she has studied at the University of Lodz. Witek's work focuses on language acquisition, which intersects her interests in literary studies and the cultural contexts of language learning and use. She is an active participant in the university's language departments, coordinating assessments and teaching French language courses.
