Misha Amory is an active soloist, chamber musician, and dedicated teacher associated with the Brentano String Quartet and Yale School of Music since 2014. Amory has performed with numerous orchestras across the United States, Europe, and Asia, and has participated in various music festivals including the Marlboro Music Festival and the Rome Chamber Music Festival. As a prominent member of the Brentano String Quartet, YSM’s ensemble-in-residence, he regularly presents creative programs that highlight works from both historical and contemporary repertoires. In addition to performance, Amory is a committed educator who coaches graduate-level chamber music ensembles at Yale and has served on the faculties of the Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music. He holds degrees from Yale College and the Juilliard School, studying under notable teachers such as Heidi Castleman and Caroline Levine. His accolades include winning the Naumberg Viola Award in 1991 and he has contributed to significant recordings, including Paul Hindemith's Sonatas.
