Biography

Mitchell Barnett is an Instructional Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Iowa in 2004, where he also obtained a Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration. His educational journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, also from the University of Iowa, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Additionally, Barnett completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Touro University from 2004 to 2006. His professional certifications include being a Registered Pharmacist in both Iowa and Illinois. Barnett's research interests are primarily focused on Health Services Research, particularly in the utilization of pharmacy claims and the severity adjustment of pharmaceutical interventions. He is also passionate about Educational Measurement and Statistics, teaching social behavioral health methodologies, applied research methods, and evidenced-based medicine guidelines. Throughout his career, Barnett has received numerous awards and recognitions including the Touro University Resident Research Project Award and the AACP Excellence Assessment Award. His contributions to the field have been recognized by multiple prestigious journals such as the Managed Care Pharmacy, where he has served as a top reviewer.
