Biography

Nana H Lee is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto’s Department of Biochemistry. She holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto and has completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Michigan and as a Visiting Scholar at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research at MIT. Dr. Lee has an extensive background in both academia and the biotechnology industry, including roles such as Senior Research Scientist at Ellipsis Biotherapeutics and Director of Application Science at DNA Software Inc. In 2012, she pioneered the Graduate Professional Development (GPD) course in the Department of Biochemistry, which was published in Science Careers. Dr. Lee is actively involved in the academic community, with numerous invited speaking engagements and workshops focused on enhancing student learning and career development. She has received the 2022 Temerty Faculty Award for Excellence in Professional Values and is a Regional Director for the Graduate Career Consortium. She has co-authored several publications and held higher education grants on projects aimed at improving graduate education and professional development.
