Dr. Napoleon Katsos

Biography

Napoleon Katsos is a Professor of Experimental Linguistics at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on experimental investigation into language acquisition and processing, alongside theoretical linguistic inquiry. His primary interests lie in semantics and pragmatics, with a particular emphasis on implicature, presupposition, and quantification. He collaborates with colleagues on projects funded by major funding bodies such as the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the British Academy, and the Economic and Social Research Council, exploring facets of experimental pragmatics in both typically and atypically developing children and adults. Napoleon is also a founding member of the Cambridge Bilingualism Network, reflecting his interest in bilingualism within his research framework. He is open to inquiries from prospective MPhil and PhD students whose research interests align with his own.
