Dr. Natalie Hoffmann

Biography

Natalie Hoffmann is a distinguished harp instructor and performer based in Ottawa, Canada. Since September 2018, she has been a faculty member at the University of Ottawa's School of Music, where she holds the position of Professor of Harp. With a strong commitment to education, Natalie has developed a large private harp studio and serves as a harp chamber coach for several ensembles, including the Ottawa Youth Orchestra Academy. She is also the co-founder and co-director of the True North Harp Retreat, which provides intensive study opportunities for advanced harpists. Natalie's performance engagements in Ottawa include collaborations with Hypatia’s Voice Women’s Choir and the National Arts Centre Orchestra. She has trained under the celebrated harpist Judy Loman and has received a performance diploma and a Bachelor of Music degree in harp performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music. Additionally, she pursued her master’s degree in harp under the guidance of the legendary Susann McDonald at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, followed by a degree in education focused on at-risk youth from Queen’s University, demonstrating her passion for teaching alongside her performance career.
