Biography

Natalie Wagner completed her PhD in Psychology at McMaster University in 2019, focusing on developing, implementing, and evaluating a competency-based curriculum for surgical trainees. She joined the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen's University in October 2019 as a postdoctoral fellow, where she evaluated the implementation of online learning and competency-based education in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In 2020, she transitioned to the Course Development Unit to continue her research and advise the Bachelor of Health Sciences program on best practices related to competency-based education. Natalie is also the developer and instructor of HSCI 190, which is an introduction to statistics course. Her research affiliations include the McMaster Department of Surgery, Queen's Office of Professional Development in Educational Scholarship, Queen's Postgraduate Medicine, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, where she conducts qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research in medical education.
