Dr. Natasha Reid

Biography

Natasha Reid is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art Education at the University of Victoria. She specializes in various aspects of art education including community art education, visual inquiry research, and K-12 art education, with particular interest in Canadian Indigenous art. Her academic background includes a PhD and MA in Art Education from Concordia University, as well as an Hon. BA in Art History from the University of Toronto. Natasha's research focuses on narrative-based and arts-based identity research, emphasizing methodologies of socially engaged and critical race theory art education. She has contributed to numerous art exhibitions, both as a curator and as an exhibiting artist, showcasing works that explore contemporary art practices and social justice in education. Notable exhibitions include her work in the 'Regeneration' faculty exhibition at the University of Victoria and her collaborations on 'playing – playing' with other artists.
