Biography

Nathan Vandeweerd is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language and Communication at Radboud University. He completed his bachelor's degree at McGill University in Montreal, majoring in Linguistics and minoring in French Translation. He then worked as a language teacher in Japan. In 2016, he earned a master's degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Groningen and subsequently became a lecturer in English Language and Culture. Vandeweerd's doctoral research took place at UCLouvain and Vrije Universiteit Brussel under the supervision of Dr. Magali Paquot and Professor Dr. Alex Housen, focusing on the topic of phraseological complexity in L2 French. His research interests include Language Acquisition and Corpus Linguistics, specifically the effect of register on L2 production.
