Biography

Nazli Bhatia is an Associate Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also serves as a lecturer at the Wharton School. Her research focuses on understanding the powerful role that words play in various interpersonal contexts, particularly in negotiation. Bhatia explores how rhetorical strategies and the presentation of proposals and concessions can influence negotiation processes and outcomes. She teaches courses on negotiation and power influence, and has previously taught organizational behavior, cross-cultural management, and managing teams. Bhatia earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior Theory from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in 2014, and has held faculty positions in Portugal and Qatar prior to her current role at Penn.
