Dr. Nenia Zenana

Biography

Nenia Zenana is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, with a rich educational background that includes a degree from the conservatory in piano, ear training, orchestra conducting, and choral conducting. She spent a semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston and is also trained as a body therapist. Zenana has taught at the Department of Musicology since 1996, focusing on ear training, practical piano, and conducting. She has been involved with the Academic Orchestra and Choir since the year 2000 and has experience in directing various musical performances, choirs, and symphony orchestras. In addition to her teaching, she performs concerts with her band and engages in community singing since the 1980s. She also conducts workshops and arrangements related to leadership, nature, and music, emphasizing the importance of emotional connection through art. Outside of her professional life, she has a profound appreciation for nature and human connection, often expressing joy in communal experiences and musical creativity.
