Biography

Nicola Orlov is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Chicago. She is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist who currently serves as the Residency Program Director and Vice Chair of Education. Prior to her current position, she spent eleven years as the Associate Program Director of the residency program. Dr. Orlov is a graduate of the Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her residency training and Chief Year at The University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Columbia University and completed a fellowship in Medical Education Research Innovation Teaching and Scholarship (MERITS) at the University of Chicago. Dr. Orlov is recognized for her excellence in teaching and mentorship, receiving numerous awards including the Leonard Tow Award and being inducted into the AOA. Her research interests focus on coaching, feedback, and remediation, and she actively leads workshops at educational conferences. Dr. Orlov has published extensively in journals such as Academic Pediatrics and Academic Medicine, reflecting her commitment to improving medical education and training.
