Dr. Nicolas Carlucci

Biography

Nicolas Carlucci is a Canadian freelance violinist with a decade of teaching experience, celebrated as both a performer and educator. He has held faculty appointments at distinguished Canadian universities and has built a strong reputation as a dedicated pedagogue in classical music. Carlucci's passion for chamber music has taken him across North America and the Southern Hemisphere, resulting in numerous studies and performances. He regularly performs with local ensembles, notably with the Magisterra Soloists, and he has contributed to the administrative team as an orchestral musician. His engagements include prestigious orchestras such as the London Symphonia and Windsor Symphony, where he has served as concertmaster of the Oxford Collegium and Kammerchor Baroque. Committed to fostering a passion for technical excellence among violinists at all levels, Carlucci has spent over ten years building a private studio. He earned his Master’s in Violin Literature Performance from the esteemed German violinist Annette-Barbara Vogel. As a Violin Lecturer at Western University, he mentors both undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, he has served as a Violin Instructor at Wilfrid Laurier University’s precollege String Academy for five years as the primary violin group class instructor, and he conducts the senior orchestra at the Forest City String School. Beyond teaching, Carlucci is actively involved in adjudicating music festivals and participating in curriculum development, with his students consistently achieving top accolades.
