Dr. Nicole Sanderson

Biography

Nicole Sanderson is a lecturer at the University of Waterloo specializing in Social Development Studies. She has a Doctorate from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto in Sociology Education. In addition to her doctoral studies, she holds a Master of Education from Lakehead University in Curriculum Studies and a Bachelor of Education from Lakehead University. Nicole completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Queens University, along with an Honours Bachelor of Physical Education. Her research interests include Sociology Education, Qualitative Research Methods, and History Education. She is particularly focused on Teacher Education, Post-Secondary Teaching, and the Rise of Research Culture, with an emphasis on Gender Equity and Social Justice and Equity Issues. Additionally, she is actively involved in Curriculum Development, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing educational practices. Nicole is a certified elementary and secondary school teacher with the Ontario College of Teachers, indicating her proficiency in the field of education.
