Dr. Nicolette Caccia

Biography

Nicolette Caccia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto. She specializes in Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and has made significant contributions to the fields of competency-based medical education (CBME) and interprofessional education. Dr. Caccia's clinical interests include perinatal care, menstrual disorders, and pessary care. With over 20 years of experience, she initially completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology, followed by postgraduate medical training at the University of Toronto. Dr. Caccia's career reflects a commitment to collaborative care and medical education, having taught not only medical students but also residents, midwifery, and nursing students. Her research focuses on patient safety and e-learning in medical education, emphasizing the importance of psychological aspects in gynecological care for children and adolescents, while also having a special interest in non-invasive treatments for women's reproductive health. Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Caccia is dedicated to implementing competency-based medical education in Canadian postgraduate training programs in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
