Dr. Nigel Phang Yew Keong

Biography

Nigel Phang Yew Keong is an Associate Professor of Practice at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, where he also serves as the Associate Dean for the Nanyang Executive Education and ASEAN-China Programme. His expertise lies in human resources, organizational behavior, and executive education, with a particular focus on leadership and change management topics within the Chinese EMBA program. Nigel brings a wealth of professional experience across various industries in Asia, having held prominent positions such as Managing Director at the Corporate Executive Board and General Manager at China Development Dimensions International. His career encompasses critical roles as HR Director and leadership positions within civil service, financial institutions, and high-tech manufacturing sectors. Additionally, he worked as a military field psychologist with Singapore’s Ministry of Defence. Trained as an industrial psychologist, Nigel possesses a strong interest in talent management and business transformation. He has published articles in the field of talent management and has presented at HR forums across Asia. Academically, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore, an MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Sheffield, an MBA from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Nanyang Technological University. Beyond his academic and professional endeavors, Nigel is actively involved in non-profit organizations, serving in management committees and advisory roles.
